Full-Function Switching Performance for the Workgroup/Desktop Environment
The 2E42-27R provides affordable, high-performance workgroup/desktop switching with connectivity to the WAN or high-speed LAN backbones. Designed with features usually found only in top-of-the-line data center switches, the 2E42-27R provides the industry's most complete feature set at the workgroup and desktop levels of the enterprise.

Functioning as a standalone switch, the 2E42-27R offers 24 10 Mbps switch ports, two optional Fast Ethernet switch interfaces, and an optional high-speed interface module (HSIM) that can be used for backbone con-nectivity. Available with a single power supply or dual, load-sharing power sources, the 2E42-27R Ethernet Switch can be used as a high-speed desktop switch or as a workgroup switch feeding building or campus backbones.

The 2E42-27R is also ideally suited to the corporate remote site or small office, where users and servers benefit from dedicated Ethernet/Fast Ethernet LAN connectivity as well as high-speed access over the WAN to corporate headquarters or the Internet.
